Tuscany Fashion Notebook

As part of the Italy trip, I created a garment based upon the 1920s era. This close up of my Fashion notebook helps so show some initial ideas and research that I constructed for the project.

Tuscany Sketchbook

This drawing was based upon the statues outside of the Ufizzi Museum in florence.

Tuscany Sketchbook

This was an initial response to architectural images that were taken in both Florence and Siena when I went on the Cheshire artists in Italy Trip 09. The project was incredibly inspiring and enabled me to work at a fast pace using a larger range of media.

A2 Prepwork

As a response to one of my photographs, I created this image using a range of ink and paints. By letting the inks run, I hoped to achieve a rough look that helped to portray a discarded feel to the tools.

Artist Research

Jim Dine heavily influenced the first section of my A2 coursework. This is my response to one of my photographs in the style of Dine.

Prep-work A2 Art

I painted this image after looking at tools. My focal point at the time of painting was the use of colours and applying different hues similar to those that Sickert uses within his images.

Artist Research

After looking at the work of Lotus Pelles-Chen, I drew and painted this portrait. Pelles-Chen uses thick layers of stitch in his work with trailing threads to create a worn look, which is something that I was particularly intrigued by.

Unit 3 Art A level: Second Final Piece

This is the current view of my second final piece for my A2 coursework. The project developed from the idea of rust and Tanya Bonello's work. After constructing the dress from a sheer fabric, I have begun to add samples of paint that were constructed from white acrylic, watercolour and soft pastel on greaseproof paper (so that they could be peeled off when dry) and stitched onto the dress.

Life Drawing

On my first life drawing session I completed this image, simply using graphite. The angle was a challenge but as the drawing progressed I felt I grew more confident with my mark marking.

Life Drawing

This image was completed in my second life drawing session as I progressed onto a range of media including graphite, charcoal and grey and white soft pastels.

Textiles A2 Portfolio: Initial Ideas

For this section of my portfolio, I completed a series of rough sketches, focussing on the layering techniques Jacobs used in his collection whilst developing my own designs.

Textiles A2 Portfolio

This page of my portfolio features thoughts on colour schemes and the shapes and proportions Marc jacobs used in his Spring 09 collection upon which my project is based.
